Spring is fast approaching, and it won’t be long before high school students studying the third year of a natural science program submit their applications to universities and higher education institution
To help ease the choice of education, the High school weekend committee of the Pharmaceutical Student Union together with the Faculty of Pharmacy at Uppsala University, invites you to an inspiring weekend in Uppsala from March 27th – 29th, 2026. It will be a weekend dedicated to the spirit of pharmacy, perfect for those with an interest in biology, chemistry and pharmaceuticals.
Hope to see you there!

During the day, you will have the chance to meet our students from the Master of Science Programme in Pharmacy and Bachelor of Science Programme in Pharmacy. You will also get the opportunity to listen to our successful researchers and teachers and meet professional pharmacists from the pharmacy industry, the pharmaceutical industry and the university. You will even get hands-on experience in manufacturing and visit inspiring places in Uppsala that could become part of your daily life if you choose to study here.
The purpose of the day is for you, as a high school student, to be informed about life as a pharmacy student in Uppsala and be inspired by the pharmacist’s job market.
Registration for the High school weekend 2026 will be open between February 2th – 20th.
Hope to see you on March 27-29!

See you soon!

PROJECT LEADER
Hello! My name is Wilma, I am 20 years old and am currently studying my fourth semester at the Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy! I am the project leader of The High School Weekend 2026! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions that don’t surround food, housing or transport. My goal for the weekend is that all of you learn something new, have fun and of course become the new pharmacy students this fall!
What’s your favorite memory at the student union?
My favorite memory has to be Midterm HT25! It was so fun to plan the best party of the semester together with my Caphé-friends (and KvP of course)!
What is the best course you’ve had so far?
My favorite course so far has to be Pharmacology II with Pharmaceutical chemistry, more specifically the Pharmaceutical chemistry part! I think it’s really fun to try and figure out what drug molecule you’re drawing. And I also think it’s fascinating to think about how that small molecule you’re drawing can have such a large effect on the body!
What do you want to do in the future?
I haven’t really decided what I want to do in the future. I would like to work with the development and production of cosmetics. Apart from that I’m also interested in working as a clinical pharmacist. Nothing is decided yet, so maybe I will find a huge interest in some of the future courses of the progra

ACCOMODATIONS
COORDINATOR
Hello! My name is Elin, I’m 21 years old and right now I’m in my sixth semester at the masters programme in pharmaceutical science! I’m responsible for the accommodation during this weekend, so if you’re wondering anything about the accommodation during the weekend you can contact me! Uppsala is an amazing student town with lots of cozy cafés, exciting student nations and an incredible environment, so I hope that you’ll enjoy your time here!
What’s your favorite memory at the student union?
My favorite memory at the student union was when we played hide and seek during a “midterm”, which is the best (according to me) dinner party during the semester.
What is the best course you’ve had so far?
It is hard to choose but the best courses I’ve had so far are basic analytical chemistry and pharmacology which gave me lots of knowledge about how to analyze drugs and how drugs act in the body. Pharmaceutics has also become a favorite of mine because you get to make different preparations of drugs.
What do you want to do in the future?
In the future I want to work in research or drug development, to make new drugs and investigate their effects.

FOOD COORDINATOR
Hi!
My name is Theodor and I’m a 22 year old who currently works full time at the Pharmaceutical student union. During this weekend you’ll meet me wearing kitchen clothes since I’m the cook for these days. I really hope that you’ll use these three days as inspiration for your upcoming registration for continued studies (högskole-/universitetsval)
What’s your favorite memory at the student union?
My favourite memories from the student union are from all my previous responsibilities. But if I were to highlight something it has to be Pinsestaevne. So if you have any questions regarding how you can pack your schedule as much as possible outside of your studies, feel free to talk to me throughout the weekend.
What is the best course you’ve had so far?
My favorite course so far has been the course on Toxicology and pharmacovigilance. My older peers would probably not agree with me but I found the course super fun. In short it went through the backside of everything; how things act toxic, how toxicity appears and most importantly how we test new pharmaceuticals for a possible toxic effect.
What do you want to do in the future?
I hope that after I graduate I’ll work in the pharma-industry. Either with quality control or production. But this might change during the course of the program.

TRANSPORT
COORDINATOR
Hi there!
My name is Saga, I´m 22 years old, and will soon be starting my sixth semester at the master programme in pharmaceutical science!. Together with Anton, I am responsible for transportation during the weekend, so if you have any questions or concerns regarding transport, feel free to reach out to either of us.
I hope you´re looking forward to the weekend and that you make the most of the opportunity to get to know Uppsala and get a glimpse of university life!
What is your favourite memory from the student union?
I have many fun memories, bur the orientation week is always something special. At the same time, I have to say that Midterm (a themed “dinner” party held once per semester) is also a favourite.
What has been the best course you´ve taken so far?
I really enjoyed analytical chemistry. It was exciting to learn how to analyse different pharmaceutical substances, and the lab sessions were especially fun. I also have to mention galenic pharmacy, which I`ve also really enjoyed, mainly because we got to try making different pharmaceutical preparations ourselves.
What would you like to do in the future?
I haven´t completely decided yet, and it feels like it changes every semester. Right now, I´m leaning towards working in the pharmaceutical industry, either in manufacturing or quality assurance. But as I said, that could definitely change along the way.

Hello, my name is Anton and I’m 22 years old. I am currently in my 4th term in the master of pharmacy programme. My introduction to this programme was when I invited here on a similar weekend as yours. During this weekend I’ll be responsible for transportation alongside Saga, if you got any questions about your train journey feel free to ask us.
What’s your favorite memory at the student union?
My favorite memory is of my introduction weeks about ⅕ year ago. We had such fun activities and met people who have become some of my dearest friends today.
What is the best course you’ve taken so far?
Pharmacology (term 3) is my favorite course so far. It felt like that course tied everything we had learned and studied the previous terms. It also was interesting to learn the mechanics on some drugs I have taken.
What do you want to do in the future?
I love to work with people, and I can’t imagine doing anything else. So I’ll be happy standing behind the counter in a pharmacy shop or perhaps working clinically in a hospital.
